GOOD NEWS FOR MODERN WOMEN
“The Lord gave the command; a great company of women brought the good news; “The kings of the armies flee—they flee!” She who stays at home divides the spoil.”
Psalm 68:11-12
*evangeline comes from euangelion meaning GOOD NEWS!

making my steps secure : a testimony
when i was growing up the word testimony usually meant, basically, someone’s spiritual “origin story”, but over the past year or so i’ve come to use the word more liberally, a little more like testify…

accessible examples
i was just reading the other day in Mark,
“With many such parables he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it…

discipleship in the home
a few years ago i surrendered my life completely to Jesus. i’d been a christian before—growing up in a missionary home, then getting truly saved while on the mission field myself in my early twenties…

faith is a substance
hebrews 11:1 tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. over the years i’ve come to see faith as an actual, vital ingredient. a sort of activator to God’s power…

exceedingly great & precious promises / blessed is she who believed
i woke up yesterday morning asking the Lord…

all the ground for Jesus
"submit to the Holy Ghost when He claims all the ground for Jesus. submit to Him when He seeks to turn your eyes from idols, from yourself; from the past, or the dream of the future…

the life of abiding
this is part of a letter i wrote to a friend, longing to be led by the Spirit, but struggling through the practical daily life. how do we abide when we have legitimate decisions to make, work to do, children and husband to care for?

on being simple
i love how when the Lord has something He’s trying to impress upon us, we can count on Him to tell us over & over…

inspiration vs. perspiration
i was thinking about that quote that’s attributed to thomas edison, that creativity (or is it genius?) is 99 percent perspiration and one percent inspiration…

God is real, He's good, and He speaks
everywhere we go, there soon emerges a morning rhythm. on mayne island i wake up before dawn, head outside, light the fire…
hello!
i’m michelle, or “mumsy” as i’m called here at little phlox farm, and this is my discipleship journal. thanks for stopping by!
i have a heart for discipleship of mothers & children, but mostly, for the mothers, as a help & support to you as you disciple your own children, & experience, together, the good news of the kingdom in your own homes!
many of us will never go on the foreign field to disciple the nations, but here in our homes we get to make disciples of our children—proclaiming the gospel of pardon for sin & restored fellowship with the Father through Jesus’ sacrifice (the good news), and righteousness, peace, & joy in the Holy Spirit (the kingdom)!
i hope you find encouragement here as you preach the gospel to your own children. may the Lord work with you to confirm the message by the signs that accompany it (mark 16:20)!
